How To Remove a Gas Permeable Contact Lens

There are a few ways to remove a gas permeable lens.

First is the pull and blink method. Simply open your eyes wide and pull at the skin toward the side of your eyelids and blink. This will pop the lens out.

Another method is using your eyelids to apply pressure underneath the lens to remove the lens. This technique will require some practice, as you need to apply pressure at the exact position of the eyelid margin. Pressing your eyelids too high or low will not dislodge the lens.

Lastly, you may remove the lens by using a small plunger. Simply wet the plunger with some multipurpose solution or saline and place directly on the center of the lens and remove.
